Kevin Levrone is one of the most well known bodybuilders in the industry. Levrone has been flirting with the idea of making a comeback for years now. “I feel like something’s missing, and it’s just being in the gym and doing what I love”, Levrone stated in recent video. He also confirms the big hype of ending his retirement and competing in the 2016 Mr. Olympia at age 51. The oldest Mr. Olympia winner was Chris Dickerson in 1982 at the age of 43. If Levrone wins in 2016, he will be by far the oldest Mr. Olympia in bodybuilding history. Many people already refer to Levrone as the “Uncrowned Mr. Olympian” due to his many attempts and close 2nd place finishes in the 11 Mr. Olympian competitions he’s competed in since 1992, but failing to come out on top in any of them. “I have some unfinished business left on that stage and its bout time to take care of it.” He said in an interview with Phil Heath, a 5-time Mr. Olympian, who has idolized Levrone since a young age.
“My body is 100% ready to rock and roll. I’m just going to do what I was born to do man. I can do in 4 months what it takes the average bodybuilder to do in 12 months and that’s how I pace my whole Career.” Levrone says. The highly motivated Levrone will have to push his body to the limits to compete with the younger bodybuilders in todays competitions but going balls to the wall in the gym and pushing his body to the absolute limit never has been a issue for Kevin. He says athletes today don’t punish their body’s enough or do the “Crazy Freaky” workouts like he was used to doing in years past and even now days at his age. Kevin is as focused and motivated now as he ever has been in his career. It’s really an exciting time in the bodybuilding industry when a legend and highly respectable icon like Kevin Levrone announces his comeback to the big stage. (Check out his inspiring “Comeback Speech” below.)
It truly shows the character and drive he has for life and the sport of bodybuilding. Kevin’s story and accomplishments are very motivating and a inspiration to everyone around him. It would be a game changer in the bodybuilding industry and one of the most inspirational moments in sports history to see Kevin Levrone named 2016 MR OLYMPIAN.
