Whether you’ve just decided to launch a brand, or you’re ready to take it to the next level, turn times matter.
In theory, effective planning and organization can minimize the importance of quick turn times for capsule and powdered nutritional supplements. In practice, however, turn times are always going to be an important part of running your business.
JIT or “just in time” manufacturing means that materials are manufactured and shipped just as they are needed. The benefits of a JIT inventory management process is that overhead and labor can be significantly lower, product shelf life is extended when warehouse time is reduced, transportation costs can be reduced with drop-shipping “on demand” and changes that need to be made quickly are not two to three months away – but two to three weeks. The flexibility and cost savings that are gained provide a tremendous competitive advantage over similar retailers, wholesalers and distributors.
The challenge, of course, is finding a supplier that you can trust to meet the rigorous logistical demands of JIT manufacturing and shipping. Innovative Formulations is that partner. Keep in mind that the term “turn time” is intended to represent only the amount of time between when all inventory and labels have arrived in our facility to the time a finished product leaves our facility. Still, with many ingredients in stock and many customers choosing to label “in house” – our two to three week turn time can sometimes include shipping (which, by the way, is free to your dock or storefront).
